- There is no black market and the euro exchange takes place everywhere without any problems, or commission, whether in exchange offices or banks. In tourist areas, they often have a foreign exchange counter over looking the street that stays open later than the bank itself (up to 20 hours, sometimes 22 h), everyday including week-end.
Moreover, the exchange offices of banks adopt the conventional banking hours: Monday to Friday from 8 am 30 to 15 30 pm, closed on weekends. No particular comment on either the traveler’s checks, except that a small fee is levied (on each check,it is better to take large cuts).
- No problem to withdraw money from ATMs in major cities of the kingdom. However you will pay a commission of 150 Bts (3 €) foreach withdrawal, in addition to the commission from your bank.
- Make sure you always have some small change on you and your partner will not have forever.
